It all started February 2009 when I visited the Maple Syrup Festival in Parke County, IN. I had not even a passing interest in anything related to maple syrup, but bought a small jar of maple cream anyway, simply because the vendor was a sweet, elderly woman with kind eyes. Well, that little jar of maple cream was kind of a gateway drug that led me to discover the amazing versatility and complexity of maple. I hope to inspire others to explore this amazing ingredient, and help spread its sweetness beyond the breakfast table.
